About the Event
Tour the new Asia and Australia Exhibits at the Albuquerque BioPark Zoo, spanning 7+ acres, these exhibits evoke the varied habitats of Asia and Australia. Tour guides, Laura Anderson, AIA (Studio SW Architects), Faith Okuma , ASLA (Surrounding) working with PJA Architects (Seattle); and Serge Kalajdzic, AIA (Hartman + Majewski Design Group), Aaron Zahm, ASLA (Pland Collaborative) working with CLR Design (Philadelphia); and Contractor Bradbury Stamm’s Erich Ehlert, Project Manager and Dante Gonzalez, Project Engineer, this walking tour “aims to create a transportive experience that will make visitors feel as if they’ve left Albuquerque and are immersed in a diverse landscape, ranging from lush floodplains to the mountains. The project will convey conservation initiatives to the public via dynamic, activity-based animal habitats, nature-focused discovery education, and family experiences. It will feature environmentally responsible design through renewable energy sources, passive ventilation, sustainable materials, water reclamation, stormwater management, and LEED-inspired strategies.” (2 HSW/ASLA CEU's Pending Approval) Registration form available by emailing director@aiaabq.org
